Solar heat pumps

Heat Pumps are the latest advancement in swimming pool heating technology. Heat pumps are an energy efficient way to heat your swimming pool or spa to your desired water temperature and to maintain it there, economically, 24 hours a day. They are ideal for commercial swimming pools or those who like to swim day or night, throughout the year.

Heat pumps work by extracting heat energy from the surrounding air and transferring it to the water of the swimming pool. Much like an air conditioner in reverse, they use an evaporator, a compressor and condenser to heat the water instead of cooling the air. Our C series can even work in the opposite direction too, to cool down your swimming pool water if you are in the tropics or during a heat wave.

At Perth’s Solar Pool Man we prefer to install Oasis C and H series heat pumps because we are confident that they will outperform your expectations. The C series is for heating and cooling; the H series is for heating alone.

The refrigerant has a very low boiling or evaporation point – actually -26 degrees Celsius - so the warm ambient air drawn in by the evaporators soon causes it to condense within the pipes into a gas.

So, the question is which system is best for your pool – a gas heater, solar panels, solar collectors or a heat pump? It is a complicated issue to consider because there are many factors to take into account, including your requirements, budget, location, tariffs, hours of required heating and the physical layout of your premises.

If you would like to discuss your Perth pool heating options, please contact Solar Pool Man on 0433 093 156 and one of our expert technicians will be pleased to answer all your questions and draw up a noobligation estimate for installing the system you prefer.

You can choose to have your heating system installed when the pool is being constructed or add a new system to an already existing pool. All types of our heating are compatible with most pump recirculation systems that filter your pool water.

The size of the solar heat pump you will need depends on many factors including, obviously, the size and depth of your pool, the direction it faces, ambient humidity and wind speeds and frequency, whether you have a pool cover to use at night, etc.
